About The Neighborhood

The Faubourg Marigny is one of the most vibrant sections of New Orleans. It is home to many of the best cafes, bars and restaurants in New Orleans. The Marigny is also home to some of the citys most vibrant and active artists and musicians.

Heres but a scant list of some of the areas finest attractions and amenities:

Esplanade Avenue is one of the grandest of all the New Orleans boulevards. It is a great place for a jog and serves as the boundary between the opulent beauty of the old French Quarter buildings and the simple beauty and charm of the Marigny creole cottages.

Frenchmen Street is lined with some of the hottest jazz clubs in the city, as well as some of its most splendid cafes and shops. See the panel on the right for just a few of them.

Washington Square Park is a serene and wonderful place to take a walk, to play with your children or to read a great novel on a sunny afternoon.

On the other side of Elysian Fields you will find the Marigny Rectangle, which boasts some of the most beautiful homes in all of New Orleans. Recent renovations and new construction have made it a hotbed in the re-emergence of downtown living.
